Giant Collaboration in the Logistics Sector
Three major and well-established organizations in the Turkish logistics industry have taken an important step for the sector by signing a cooperation protocol. The Railroad Transportation Association, the Turkish Port Operators Association, and the International Transport and Logistics Services Producers Association came together to sign the protocol on January 12, 2023. The ceremony was held at the TÜRKLİM association office and was attended by the presidents and members of the board of the associations.
The cooperation protocol is an important step taken by DTD, TÜRKLİM, and UTİKAD to develop projects that will contribute to the development of the logistics sector and to produce solutions for existing problems with a common understanding. The Presidents of the DTD, TÜRKLİM, and UTİKAD, Ali Ercan Güleç, Aydın Erdemir, and Ayşem Ulusoy, respectively, met on January 12, 2023, in the TÜRKLİM Association Office. At the meeting, which was also attended by the members of the executive and administrative boards of the associations and hosted by TÜRKLİM, a decision was made to sign a protocol of good will and cooperation on any topic that is agreed upon by the parties, with a focus on transportation and logistics.
Under the protocol, the parties will work together and cooperate on various topics such as:
• Contribution to sector development: The development of intermodal transportation solutions will be supported. If necessary, working committees can be established between the parties on these issues.
• Information exchange: The parties will pay attention to mutual information sharing, especially in the form of newsletters, press releases, business and sector reports, and sectoral statistics, and in the direction of mutual benefits from planned activities. Such information will be exchanged free of charge between the parties.
