Airfreight Pricing SpecialistIstanbulJob descriptionWe are looking for a Pricing Specialist for our National Airfreight department who will work closely with Airfreight Product/Trade Managers and Sales team to support growth targets by formulating and managing replies to bid requests (RFQs) and spot quotations. Will help developing comprehensive pricing and bid management strategy for the country. This role requires the ability to improve the buying conditions to increase profitability.Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Support inquiries with quick and competitive quotas and follow up with Sales, Network and House Acounts
  • Validates adherence to standards and pricing instructions
  • Formulate timely and accurate responses to Global RFQs and local pricing requests
  • Rolls-up bid input into country response
  • Executes country-to-country pricing, pricing campaigns, factor-based BC pricing (incl. setting up internal rates)
  • Supports in execution of commercial AFR strategy in country (e.g. filling campaign rate table)
  • Supports Sales in selling/securing AFR on country level in terms of providing adequate solution design, routing proposals and factor based pricing for prioritized opportunities
  • Initiates risk taking process (e.g. escalation to Pricing Team leader)
  • Performs execution of global procurement strategy
  • Ensures adherence to global decisions (rates, process, etc.)
  • Forecasts, procures locally and on spot market and optimizes/consolidates
  • Defines and sets up internal local rates (local charges) in system and checks centrally provided internal rates
  • Monitors carrier performance and initiates corrective actions

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (International Business, Transportation, Logistics, Commerce or Administration is preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of AFR forwarding business, minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Having commercial mindset and working knowledge as incoterms and payment terms
  • Strong project management skills and ability to cope with multiple bids in parallel
  • Very strong communication and negotiation skills with a positive attitude
  • Commercial experience/capabilities
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and to work under pressure
  • Customer focused with a proactive attitude
  • Strong problem-solving mentality

I graduated from the first civil aviation training school in Turkey, which was known as the Civil Aviation School at the time and is now Eskişehir Technical University, in 1991. For three years, I taught courses on air cargo at Nişantaşı University. I still hold valid IATA certifications related to both passenger and cargo operations.
