Ghadames Airlines operates first flight with leased Airbus A330
On the morning of March 30th, 2023, an Airbus A330 aircraft leased from Air Anka landed empty at Libya’s Mitiga Airport. According to Veysel Cengiz, the CEO of 3C International, starting from the following Thursday, Ghadames Airline will operate scheduled flights between Istanbul and Mitiga every day of the week using the same Airbus 330 aircraft. The same plane will fly three times a week between Istanbul and Benghazi.
On its first flight, the aircraft flew to Libya with 22 tons of cargo but no passengers. It will return with passengers later in the day and then continue to fly Istanbul-Mitiga-Istanbul routes as part of its scheduled service from next week.
The aircraft has a three-class cabin configuration with a total of 263 seats, including 32 business, 52 comfort, and 179 economy seats. Ghadames’ cargo capacity will provide a good alternative for the Libyan air cargo market.
Ghadames uses Çelebi Hava Servisi for its cargo warehouse and ground handling services.
