Silk Way West Airlines made the first commercial flight from Baku to Istanbul with its first Boeing 777F aircraft, which was delivered a week ago.

The first commercial flight demonstrates the airline’s sensitivity to the brotherly country Türkiye and the Turkish air cargo market.

The Boeing 777F of Silk Way West Airlines landed at Istanbul Airport at 07:45 on the morning of October 8.

The aircraft was welcomed by Silk Way West Airlines officials, officials from İGA Airport Operation, Çelebi Ground Handling Services and Warehouse officials. The team was welcomed with flowers.

This important milestone is of great significance as a step towards increasing the quality of service and its international reach. This new aircraft will contribute to Silk Way West Airlines’ growth strategy by increasing its capacity to offer customers more choice and fast cargo shipments. It is noted as a major advance for Silk Way West Airlines and the Azerbaijani aviation industry. The Boeing 777F is recognized for its advanced technology, fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Silk Way West Airlines is proud to operate this environmentally friendly aircraft and once again demonstrates its commitment to sustainable aviation practices.

This is the maiden flight of this aircraft, the first of seven Boeing airplanes to be delivered under previously signed agreements between Boeing and Silk Way West Airlines. According to the agreements, the delivery of five Boeing 777-F and two Boeing 777-8F aircraft to Azerbaijan will take place over the next seven years until 2030.
