21 September 2026, Istanbul – Hitit, a global provider of software solutions for the aviation and travel industries, received two awards at the BeeTech Technology Awards organized by ITU ARI Teknokent. Hitit ranked first in the Large-Scale Company category and also received the Export Leader Special Award in recognition of its achievements in technology exports. Sezer Tuğ Özmutlu, Hitit’s Chief Financial and Procurement Officer, accepted the awards on behalf of the company at the ceremony held at the ITU Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center.
The BeeTech Technology Awards, organized by ITU ARI Teknokent, recognize ITU ARI Teknokent companies that distinguish themselves through their projects, technologies and export performance. Companies are evaluated in various categories based on their size and performance, while outstanding achievements are recognized with special awards.
A Journey Built on Faith in Turkish Engineering
Commenting on the awards, Sezer Tuğ Özmutlu, Hitit’s Chief Financial and Procurement Officer, said, “Hitit’s story began with a strong belief that technologies developed in Türkiye could be produced to world-class standards. When our company was founded, aviation technologies were largely developed by organizations based in Europe and the United States, and the industry’s needs were mostly met through imported solutions. Our founders charted a different course, believing that these technologies could be developed by Turkish engineers and compete globally,” she said.
Technology Exports Spanning Six Continents
Noting that Hitit now works with 68 airline and travel brands across 47 countries, Özmutlu continued: “Today, with a customer network spanning six continents, we rank among the world’s largest aviation technology companies. Becoming the largest airline reservation systems provider in West Africa, the second largest in Europe and the third largest worldwide is a significant testament to the value Turkish engineering creates on a global scale. We have built this success over the years by expanding into new countries, acquiring new customers and continuously developing our product portfolio,” she said.
From ITU Teknokent to the World
Emphasizing that all of the company’s solutions are developed at its R&D center at ITU ARI Teknokent, Özmutlu said, “Today, we operate with a broad product portfolio covering not only aviation but also travel technologies. We develop all our products here and export them from here to the world. As a company that has successfully turned technology into market-ready products, we are not only growing globally but also helping shape the future of the industry through our innovative solutions and vision. We regard the awards we received at BeeTech 2026 as a valuable reflection of this journey.”
Hitit’s solutions now support the travel journeys of 110 million passengers annually, while the company’s service network extends to more than 900 airports and 30,000 travel agencies across 160 countries. With a product portfolio ranging from passenger service systems and operational solutions to accounting, cargo systems and next-generation airline retailing, Hitit continues to advance the digital transformation of the global aviation industry.
