Air Astana recognised by IATA for commitment to sustainable aviation
Air Astana has been recognised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for its contribution to the development of the IATA Integrated Sustainability Programme (ISP).
The IATA ISP provides airlines with a comprehensive framework to effectively manage and assess sustainability. It integrates the monitoring of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, providing stakeholders, regulators, and customers with a clear and transparent view of the airline’s ongoing progress and commitment to sustainable practices.
Air Astana played a pivotal role as one of the pilot organisations supporting IATA in refining the ISP Sustainable Procurement Standards. By contributing insights from Central Asia and the CIS region, the airline helped to shape a framework that reflects diverse operational environments and challenges.
“Sustainability is at the core of our strategy, and by collaborating with IATA and other global airlines, we are proud to help advance standards that will benefit not only our industry but also the communities and environments we serve.” said Yuliya Lim, Chief Sustainability Officer, Air Astana.
This recognition underscores the airline’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible practices, demonstrating that environmental, social, and governance principles remain integral to airline operations.
