Turkish Airlines was deemed worthy of four financing awards by ‘Airline Economics’, and ‘Airfinance Journal’

The global brand won the “Europe Deal of the Year”, “Structured Lease Deal of the Year”, “Global Lease Deal of the Year” and ” European Lease Deal of the Year” awards at the ceremonies held by “Airfinance Journal” and “Airline Economics” in Dublin.

Turkish Airlines, which was among the most successful airlines in the world during the pandemic period with its strong financial management approach and financial structure, and achieved the fastest rise after the pandemic with all its employees, continues to be a leading carrier in global aviation industry with its financial decisions.

The global brand was deemed worthy of awards in four different categories with its aircraft financing models at the “Airfinance Journal” and “Airline Economics Aviation 100” award ceremonies held in Dublin on 5 and 9 May. Representing the national flag carrier at the award ceremony, Türkiye’s one of the most successful finance leaders, Turkish Airlines’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Assoc. Dr. Murat Şeker, won the appreciation of international arena.

Commenting on the awards Turkish Airlines’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Assoc. The national flag carrier of Türkiye has been awarded  “Europe Deal of the Year” and “Structured Lease Deal of the Year” by Airfinance Journal Awards, and “Global Lease Deal of the Year Award” and “European Lease Deal of the Year” by Airline Economics for the financing of its brand new three A321 NEO aircraft by a first-of-its-kind ACG guaranteed Italian Lease with Societe Generale as lender,  and 9 B737 MAX aircraft and 3 GEnx spare engines by a US Ex-Im guaranteed French lease with Citibank, Bank of America and CaixaBank as lenders and BNP Paribas as lender and arranger, with a total financing amount of around $550 million.

Turkish Airlines aircraft financing team achieves one of the lowest financing cost in the airline industry with its experienced staff who has a comprehensive knowledge on a large array of aircraft financing structures. The global brand has been deemed worthy of different financing awards every year by world-renowned organizations such as ‘Global Transport Finance’ and ‘Airline Economics’, ‘Airfinance Journal’, and ‘Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Turkey’ with its creative financing models, many of which have been implemented for the first time, since 2009. Turkish Airlines has crowned its success in this regard, as having won 28 international aircraft finance awards in the last ten years for its successful financing performance, amounting to approximately 15 billion USD.
